Corrections and Retractions Policy
Journal: International Journal of IoT, Embedded Systems and Industrial Automation (IJIESIA)
1. Issue Identification
Concerns about a published article may be raised by authors, readers, reviewers, or editors.
- The concern must be submitted to the editorial office with a clear description of the issue.
- The editorial office records the report and assigns it to the Editor-in-Chief for review.
2. Preliminary Assessment
- The Editor-in-Chief evaluates whether the issue is minor (e.g., formatting or metadata error) or major (affecting research validity or ethics).
- If needed, supporting documents or explanations are requested from the authors.
3. Investigation
- The editorial team reviews the evidence and may consult reviewers, editorial board members, or the authors’ institutions if necessary.
- The journal determines whether the issue requires a correction or a retraction.
4. Correction Procedure
- If the issue is minor and does not affect the research conclusions, a Correction Notice is prepared by the editorial office.
- The notice clearly describes the error and the corrected information.
- The correction notice is published and linked to the original article.
- The original article remains accessible to readers.
5. Retraction Procedure
- If the article contains major errors, plagiarism, ethical violations, or unreliable findings, the journal issues a Retraction Notice.
- The retraction notice explains the reason for the retraction.
- The notice is permanently linked to the original article.
- The article remains accessible but is clearly marked as Retracted in the journal and PDF.
6. Publication of Notice
- All correction and retraction notices are published as separate documents.
- The notices are linked to the original article.
- Article status updates are reflected in the journal’s metadata and Crossmark record.
